This Privacy Policy describes how VKS Tech ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the PackLink mobile application and website (packlink.vkstech.com).

PackLink is a job networking platform exclusively built for India's flexible packaging industry, connecting professionals with job opportunities and each other.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information (Required)

• Phone number — used for OTP-based login and account identification
• Full name — to display in your profile and the network
• Designation (e.g., Operator, Engineer, Manager)
• Department (e.g., Metallizer, Slitter, Lamination)
• Company name
• Total work experience

1.2 Optional Information

• Email address — for notifications and account recovery
• Profile photo — uploaded by you, visible to other approved members
• Current/last salary — kept private, only revealed via Contact Request approval
• Resume/CV (PDF/DOCX/Image) — visible only to admins and managers
• Resume builder data — Education, work history, machines operated, technical skills, languages, hobbies (when you use the in-app Resume Builder feature)

1.3 Automatically Collected

• Device information — basic device type for login security and managing trusted devices
• Login timestamps — to detect unauthorized access
• Language preference — your selected language (English, हिन्दी, ଓଡ଼ିଆ, বাংলা)

1.4 Pre-Loaded Industry Contacts

PackLink includes approximately 2,500 pre-loaded contact entries collected from public WhatsApp industry groups and shared phone directories within the flexible packaging community. If you are listed and wish to be removed, please email us (see Contact section). When such a contact registers via OTP verification, their record is converted into a verified user account.

• To create and manage your account
• To verify identity via Phone OTP authentication (Firebase)
• To display you in the member directory (visible to approved users)
• To deliver job notifications relevant to your department/experience
• To allow contact requests between members
• To enable admin/manager verification of new registrations
• To send transactional WhatsApp messages (approval notifications, login alerts)
• To improve app stability and detect bugs

3. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal data to anyone
• Share data with advertisers or marketing companies
• Use your data for ad targeting
• Provide data to recruiters without your consent

Data is shared with:

• Other approved members — your name, designation, department, company, and photo are visible. Phone and salary are hidden until you approve a Contact Request.
• Admin and Managers — for verification purposes and resume access
• Same-company colleagues — they may receive a notification when a new user registers under their company, to help verify the registrant
• Service providers — Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and storage; GitHub Pages for hosting; Cloudflare for DNS
• Legal authorities — only if required by valid legal process

5.1 Access and Update

You can view and update your profile information at any time through the Profile section in the app.

5.2 Account Deletion

You have the right to permanently delete your account and all associated data. Visit our Account Deletion page for instructions.

5.3 Data Portability

You can request a copy of your data by emailing us. We will provide it in a machine-readable format within 30 days.

5.4 Opt-Out

You can opt out of WhatsApp notifications by contacting us. Phone OTP cannot be opted out as it is required for authentication.

6. Children's Privacy

PackLink is intended for users 18 years and older — adults working in the flexible packaging industry. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

PackLink uses browser local storage to remember your login session and language preference. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

8. Third-Party Services

PackLink integrates with the following services. Please review their privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — Privacy Policy (auth, database, storage)
• Clearbit — used for company logo lookup (no personal data shared)
• WhatsApp — used for sending notification messages (open in your WhatsApp app)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes will be notified via in-app notification.
